About the City Council
The Voice of La Pine’s Citizens
The City Council works to maintain La Pine’s vision for a well-functioning, harmonious community today and in the future. It accomplishes this by creating ordinances and resolutions, approving the annual budget, overseeing land use and public works, and generally providing for local needs. Council members are elected by popular vote and serve four-year terms. The mayor is elected for a two-year term.
The City Council’s main job is to represent the needs and desires of La Pine’s citizens while keeping the best interests of the city in mind. La Pine’s City Council operates with the mission statement: “To maintain the friendly small town nature of the city through considered choices and planned growth and development.”
