About Community Development
Encouraging Development within the City Limits
La Pine’s Community Development Department oversees community improvement and economic development with a goal of improving the quality of life for residents and businesses. This department handles planning, zoning, signs, nuisance abatement, code enforcement, business licenses, and other services involving opening a business, planning for new construction, or remodeling.

The services provided by the Community Development Department were previously managed by Deschutes County. The creation of this department is an important step in La Pine’s journey toward self-sustainability.
