980 NE Fire 09.27.24
As of 2:37 p.m. 09.27.24, the 980 NE Fire south of the City of La Pine has been completely surrounded by hose and defensive lines. Spotter aircraft will be remaining in the area and extra resources are being sent to finish the firefighting efforts and to begin mop-up. There are no evacuations proposed at this time. This information is being furnished by the City of La Pine upon consultation with Deschutes County Emergency Management. New information will be posted when available.
AS of 4:02 p.m. 09.72.24, the 980 NE Fire (est. 1 acre) south of the City of La Pine is now in mop-up phase and water dropping aerial support has left the area. Ground crews are looking for spot fires and will remain in the area for patrol.
